The Beginning – 2010
In Toxteth, Liverpool Inner City
19 year old Joey Turnip and younger brother Jimmy live with their mother, who runs a small newsagents off Lodge Lane inside Toxteth Liverpool. Her name is Maggie O'Rourke, who regularly swore her son Jimmy was born lazy, but always gave way. Having just turned seventeen he was the youngest. Joey however was different, always standing by his mother and helping around the shop. Joey, was also regularly arguing with Jimmy, who had bigger ideas about his future as a member of an up and coming street gang calling themselves the Massai Warriors. A firm for the new millennium, they wore bullet-proof vests as fashion accessories.
It's in the early hours of a Sunday of June 6th 2010 that Jimmy and friend Eddie Martin are returning home from a seedy night spot in the city centre. Having taken a route along Hope Street, beside the great Anglican Cathedral, they both see something inside the grounds of the church. Along with his mate Eddie, Jimmy forces entry into the Cathedral's basement and they become the first to witness the horror awaiting many. That's the morning they awake from inside the building a curse set down for a generation. November the 6th 2010, when the curse of Orlundi Wass Massinga is activated.
When people registered as drug users start to vanish around the city, local field social worker Nassem Tragenza has reason to be very concerned. Chief Inspector Jason Neil of the inner city armed response is also having major problems. Not only are people being shot at the rate of three a day, but hospitals report heroin addicts freaking out before dying of massive heart attacks. Suppressed from the media and local press, reports of these and other strange happenings have been noted by police officials. Jason Neil's superiors have told him. "It's on a need to know basis and right now the public don't need to know. " Its only when the thick black smog begins to descend from the centre of the great Anglican Church that demands for answers come, but they are too late.
Four weeks and four days later the whole of Merseyside will vanish, behind a gluey black substance. A substance that forms itself to the outside world into the shape of a gigantic Cathedral. From the walls of this gluey smog a putrid smell is discharged and those outside the city boundaries cannot enter. From several European countries Grand Wizards of the Masonic Lodge are sent for and with all the powers beholden to them, try to lift this curse.
Meanwhile inside the deathly smelling substance, all hell is breaking loose. A million and one souls out and seeking revenge.
