Bad Sign: The Further Trials

The Prologue

The large highly polished halls of the baby factory could not have prepared or protected me from the long haul life began unfolding around me.

I'd been called Robert by the woman who gave birth to me in November 1961, where it all began. By the 1st of February 1962, just over two months old, I was placed with unregistered foster parents. Late March, assisted by Dr Barnardo's, placed into the care of registered foster parents. In July 1962, less than a year old, I'm hospitalised and discharged but taken back into hospital again in early Feb 1963, now as an emergency described by officials as being in very poor condition. When discharged on March 15th 1963 fully admitted into the care of Dr Barbado's Baby Factory, Morley Manor.

What I know today I could never have known before and realise that back in 1961 I was being Born Under a Bad Sign. This the title of my first autobiographical novel that began to tell my life story while still unfolding. This book can now truly reflect the sadness of where it all began and what it means for me.
