Hermaphrodite
starring Saturn Abayo
A scruffy stray mongrel ambles down the road stopping outside a large town house on the corner. This house is an inner city hostel sheltering male homeless teenage black men. The mongrel's activity in the street precedes the arrival of a posh car and containing a Social Worker and 18 year old Saturn Abayo.
Saturn stands at six three with very dark black skin and a wiry figure. He has piercing brown nervous eyes that, when still, are almost magnetic.
Now entering a macho environment of gangsta raps, hip hop alongside roots and culture, Saturn will fit in nicely suggests his social worker. Having been saved from a ravaged Rwandan orphanage as a young baby, Saturn has had a very troubled past.
The arrival of Saturn Abayo will see allegiances and friendships shift amidst residents already in the hostel, prompting a change in shared bedroom arrangements.
Cecilia O'Morgan, in overall charge of the house decides Saturn, has become a victim of bullying, allowing him to change shared sleeping arrangements with other residents. Tension has notably risen since Saturn's arrival. Two ugly fights break out amidst residents and staff begin to have some real reason for concern.
Returning to work one evening a senior staff member observes the scruffy grey mongrel and another in the garden indulging in mating activity. They are being overseen by a large white Labrador. The worker ignores them and enters the Hostel.
The same Staff member makes his way from the office upstairs searching for a resident in the building. He knocks on the locked shower room door to an answer by the occupant, that he's not the person they are looking for. When the staff member has gone the shower room door slowly opens, checking, before giving another the all clear to come out.
Saturn Abayo appears beside the other with towel wrapped around his slim waist.
He smirks sneaking back towards a bedroom when the small towel drops from his waist to the floor, revealing that Saturn Abayo has the mixed sexual organs of hermaphrodite.
Rat Pit Laughs "Oh yes, oh yes, Hermaphrodites but some of us need nobody, as you will see... in:"
My Dog, My dog
Starring Larry & Molly
We enter the world and living room of elderly spinster Molly Foresight. She sits happily chatting to a small pet poodle called Larry. The snappy groomed dog is the only thing in Molly's life she cares for. Her relationship with the canine pet revealed to be of a gross sort of nature. When attacked by a large Rottweiler in the park, Molly is of no defence for Larry, or the Poodle for Molly. Seeing her poodle savaged by the larger dog Molly puts up a fight, but the death of the poodle leaves her more than emotionally distraught.
Rat Pit asks "Can you take our final tale?:"
Blank Terror
Starring Joey Trebor
A man who dreams and never knows when he is awake or asleep. Joe Trebor's nightmares are ten times worst than anyone else's reality.
Ronnie Rat Pit's final act is to climb into the hologram and vanish, leaving a stunned and somewhat silent audience.
The idea of The Rats' Pit, is a feature that contains many short stories, and is open to include stories and ideas from other writers out there. 'Welcome To The Rats' Pit': a platform for all macabre short stories for the year 3000, depicting the worse scenarios of our modern day world.
